ULO PROGRAMME

Over the last decade, lacrosse has been one of the fastest growing sports in universities across England with a 157% increase in BUCS teams since 2007.

THE PURPOSE OF THE UNIVERSITY LACROSSE OFFICER PROGRAMME IS TO:

  • Further support and develop the lacrosse population at university

  • Link with local clubs and residents near the university and connect graduates with local lacrosse clubs and employment opportunities

  • Support players’ transition from education to employment, so individuals continue to be part of the lacrosse community

    THE PROGRAMME OFFERS ULOs:

  • An annual volunteering position developing the sport of lacrosse

  • The opportunity to enhance and develop leadership skills

  • Learn how to plan and implement effective communications campaigns

  • Work with corporate organisations and partners

  • Create a network of peers within the university sector


    THE PROGRAMME OUTCOMES ARE:

  • Improving students’ physical wellbeing and individual development

  • Improving students’ mental wellbeing

  • To enhance ULO’s employability and skills development
