Derby University Lacrosse

Danny Fagan

BSc Sport & Education 1st Year

Position: Goalkeeper

I started playing lacrosse at university last September to try something new, different and to set new personal challenges.

A year later, I sit on the universities sports council and hold a position on committee as club secretary. I have come to understand the larger picture that the lacrosse community holds and feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful group of people.

Derby University Lacrosse Club

Our club is formed of two competitive lacrosse teams; a men’s and a women’s. Both of which take part in the Midlands Division 2 BUCS leagues.

The core of our club is the closeness of our teams, having regular socials and showing up to support the each other during games. We share players from various different sports across uni which gives a great sense of community across university.

You regularly hear Danny shouting “I hate lacrosse” as he is hit on the inner thigh for the 15th time, but you know he loves the attention
