Sheffield Hallam Lacrosse: Rising Uptake and Raising Money

The season is starting well at Sheffield Hallam, with SHU Men’s Team reporting an 11-2 win over University of Liverpool in their Northern Tier 1 BUCS game on 19th October, and SHU Ladies Team defeating University of Chester 17-4 in their match on 26th October. The club also recently joined TikTok, so be sure to follow @sheffhallamlax for the latest news and team memes.

Sheffield Hallam Ladies Lacrosse Club were wearing yellow and raising money for World Mental Health Day on 10th October, participating in Young Minds’ #helloyellow campaign. In addition, the club is proud to report their first team player and club committee member, Katie Scammells, recently ran a half marathon- raising over £400 for the Motor Neuron Disease Association.

The club has also witnessed an impressive increase in participation during its first month back. Hallam’s first development team session was attended by twenty-four players, which their ULO, Laura Moore, calls “a huge uptake” in the game, in comparison to pre-pandemic levels. Sign-ups reportedly continue to rise, with even more new members still anticipated to join!
